Greed through Hope.

A starry winter night, with not a soul in sight. As I walk back real slow, through empty streets and the snow. I ask myself in my thoughts so careful; what makes a man more doleful? Does greed tie him down with a bruising rope, or is it when he tastes hope? He told me then; Greed will burn his heart with fire, drive him crazy, make him a liar.  Hope will wash him away,  drown him and make him stay.  So I ask myself again more careful, what must make a man more doleful? Is it greed that pushes him to suffocation, or hopes which he thinks are his redemption? He came closer and told me softly in my ear, That greed had him take life as it came, no inhibitions no shame. But treacherous hope always held him still, greed really burns but darling hope kills. _____ Until next time,  Love, always S

Mazaak

Ye kaisa mazaak hai  tujhse tutke judne ke liye musalsal zakhm bharne ke liye, tere paas aane ka hisaab hai? Rukh quadrat ka mudh gaya  chand ka noor ba-dastoor mulayam thodi zyada dhoop, tujhse dur jana tha par main tujh hi se judh gaya. Tere ishq mien shayad mera naam kahin kho gaya zindagi ka ye modh toh dekh  tu meri taraf chalta raha, aur mai tere intezaar mien baithe baithe so gaya. Par ay Ghalib mujhe samjha  ki tera kaisa ye mazaak hai tujhse kayi dafa toot ke,  tere hi paas laut aane ka hisaab hai? ____ Until next time, Love, always S

Dip in the quarry

We had been driving for endless hours now. It was Pip's idea, the night travel. Apparently the sunrise looks amazing from this place. It seemed funny because when has a sunrise looked otherwise, anywhere? I have personally never met a sunrise that did not take my breath away. I think Pip wanted to get his way because he wanted smoke his weed. It's easier during dark. As for me, I don't mind traveling during night. I can get my sleep and when it's time for the good view, I'm awake.  It's almost sunrise now, the light's started to show. We saw the dark blues turn to purple after which it broke into the typical orange kissing dawn goodbye. The stream along which we are driving is as clear as the sky. I can hear the horn of the water dam nearby like a war cry. We're four people in the car; Pip, Viv, Kenny and me, telling the story. Yours sincerely is affectionately called Ren sometimes. It's short for my name which you don't need to know right now.  ...

My poem in the woods

Do you like the woods? I do too. Do you like getting lost inside the woods? I do too. I went out barefoot near sunrise towards the forest right outside my house. As kids, we'd come here for summers with our grandparents and spend endless lazy afternoons by the lake soaking in sunshine. I turned around to take a quick look at the house. To reassure me that I had a home to come back to, what I must start looking for if I got lost.  The house was as old as time. Big windows peeping out of the moss that covered the thick stone walls leaving patches only for bougainvillea that teased the green once in a while. The glass was a little hazy, so you know even sunlight that came through was very very golden. It was all really magical somehow. I'd tell you more about what it looked like inside the house but that's not important right now.  So I had this airy white shirt on and I wore my perfume. I just walked towards the woods. It might sound scary but all my childhood summers I had...

our scribbled song

He knocked on a rainy day slipped a letter through the door called out my name and went away. On the parchment were his worries and smiles a few tear drops  a dried wallflower and his smell that took me away a thousand miles. I could hear him sing.. it's scribbled in the stars we've gotta steal galaxies and call them ours we belong together honey, it's been so long listen to the ocean it sings the same song So let's hold hands and sway I've got sunshine I wanna give away wanna touch your soul, wanna touch your skin I'll always love you no matter where you've been. So I pack my bags and tie my hair  seal the windows tight blanket the beds to tell you the truth, I really din care. Rushed down the stairs found him waiting there with a red umbrella, glitter in his eyes he promised only sweet dreams, no more nightmares. And I could hear him sing.. it's scribbled in the stars we've gotta steal galaxies and call them ours we belong together, honey it's ...

The Piano Man

It was very windy and you could see the big tree swaying from the window. It was all so cloudy and a little sunny, just the right amount. Just the perfect kind of weather for a big cup of hot chocolate and daydreaming, you know? When you just stay tucked in a warm blanket and look outside and let the air take you away, far far away? Yea, that kind. Just absolutely perfect. I was not sure how I got there on that very big and comfortable and really maroon armchair, for starters. With a blanket so fuzzy. But my mind did not, not even for a second, want to wander from what was around. There in that room with the ceiling so high, I swear you could not have had a full look at it without twitching your neck. Bookshelves to no end with so many books. Never had I ever seen so many books not even in the wildest of my dreams. And the best part? It was all wood. With big windows across the west side. It was all very old and gloomy yet so tidy.  As beautifully chaotic as it was outside it was a...
